What is the Best 2023 Hugo Award winners?

Review of the 2023 Hugo Award winners:

2023 Hugo Award winners

– What are everyone’s thoughts? I’m delighted (and a bit surprised) to see T Kingfisher win best novel. I would have thought *The Daughter of Doctor Moreau* had it. I’m still surprised to see *Legends and Lattes* getting nominated again.

The novella slate was really strong this year. Seanan McGuire doesn’t entirely surprised me; I would have put it between her “Where the Drowned Girls Go” and Polk’s “Even Though I Knew the End,” but there wasn’t a weak novella on the list.

I haven’t read the novelettes yet to have an opinion there, but I’m not at all surprised the “Rabbit Test” won best short story based on the current political climate. It was also an interesting and well-written story, so I think it deserved it on its own merits and not simply as a reactionary middle finger to the SCOTUS.
